There are times when an authorized user on this site may encounter problems logging in.
This site has protections against web robots trying to probe user accounts to get access to functions not allowed to anonymous users. To protect against this probing there is programming logic to lock an account out after three failed tries. That lockout will remain for 24 hours and cannot be reset by Home Base Iowa web staff.
On initial account setup on the site, an email message will be sent to the address of the registered user with a link to initially set up a password. After the password is set up, you will need to log into the site to get access to special privileges such as modifying your business or veteran record.

If you have forgotten your password, you may establish a new one by entering your username or email address at the following web address which will generate an email message with a link to setting your password.
After re-establishing a password, you will need to log in to the site to access your special privileges.

If you have forgotten your username, you can see it as the subject and also greeting line in the email offering a link to reset your password. You can initiate the password reset email at https://www.homebaseiowa.gov/user/password.
Access Denied error when trying to log in at www.homebaseiowa.gov/user
If you encounter this error, you are probably already logged into the site. You can verify that you are logged in to the site in two ways.
- In the navigation header, the link to the right of "Become a Partner/Subscribe" will be "Logout" instead of "Login"
- You will see a personal set of links on the top of the left navigation area with a heading "My Account".
